Printmaking workshops with Flora McLachlan RE

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore printmaking with  visiting artist Flora McLachlan, who will be judging this years Fox Open Art Competition.

“In these workshops we will be exploring printmaking with various small affordable and makeshift presses: pasta machines, converted toy mangles found on eBay, lino presses and Adana presses.  Using craft knives and invented tools, we will make relief prints with cut and textured card plates, in one or two layered colours.”

Flora McLachlan’s work is inspired by the idea of the quest in folk and fairy tales, and its expression through landscape and symbol. Her etchings and stone lithographs are made in her own studio on the moor in West Wales.  She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, and is currently doing an MA in Fine Art at Aberystwyth School of Art.
