Description

During this session you will get an hour and a half with one of our experienced potters as part of a small group (no more than 7 students) in this time you will work on centering the clay and pulling it up.
Learn to throw a pot on the potter’s wheel in a small group workshop. Suitable for complete beginners. We start the lesson with a quick demonstration, then it’s straight down to business, getting mucky and making a pot. Aprons are provided, however please wear suitable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. At the end of the experience you get to choose your pot for firing, ready for collection after approximately 3 – 6 weeks.
 

What’s included in the price?

4kg bag of earthenware clay. 1.5 hour group pottery throwing lesson with one of our experienced potters, throwing and centring the clay and learing how to shape a pot. Firing for 1 pot.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes, you will be getting messy. We recommend trousers as you’ll sit close to the wheel as you throw. Please ensure long hair is tied back, take off jewellery and watches and remove any long necklaces, scarves etc from around your neck. It is difficult to throw pots with long nails.

Wheel throwing classes have a maximum of 7 students Our class sizes are small, ensuring you receive the individual tuition you need. Additional clay can be purchased if required.
